Since the birth of our first child in 1986 we have wished to have one or more additional children. When it was clear that this would not be possible we initiated the adoption process in 1998. In February 2000 we adopted Yanmei from Jinchang , Gansu , China. Yanmei’s adoption and integration into our family has been a great success and we feel that we have the necessary resources: time, love, energy and economic, to bring up another child. Likewise we would like to adopt a brother or sister for Thomas, and not least Yanmei.

We feel it will be a great benefit for Yanmei, to have a brother or sister of roughly the same age, so that they can grow up together. Likewise our immediate family is small.

We originally chose China as the country for Yanmei’s adoption due to the fact that there are a number of children from Asia (China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam …) in Denmark, and these are easily integrated into Danish society. We have again chosen China due to the very positive experience we had in Lanzhou, when adopting Yanmei, and the fact that Yanmei has clearly been loved and looked after whilst she was in her Chinese orphanage.

We promise not to abandon or abuse the adopted child, and bring up the child healthily, in the same way that we have brought up our own son, Thomas, and our adopted daughter Yanmei. We will give the child the same love and care and the same possibilities for education and other activities as we have given Thomas and Yanmei, as well as supporting the child in every possible way to thrive and prosper in the future.
